If you are looking around and seeing things in your life that you just don’t like, it’s time to take responsibility. Your vibe attracts your tribe. This means that things that resonate at the same frequency are found together. When two similar things are in proximity, the vibration of the weaker follows the vibration of the stronger so that they end up vibrating at the same rate. This means that your environment could be bringing you down or keeping you down.
So, this isn’t just some New Age mumbo jumbo. It’s a fact. If you don’t like what you see, it’s time to either change yourself, let some people or things go, move on, and open some space for new things to come in.
It’s natural to change. We aren’t the same in kindergarten as when we’re in middle school. Growth is factored into nature’s plan. However, Man can be stubborn and willful. We can be so fixated on creating stability that we make a comfort zone with really thick walls. We don’t let in things that challenge us, so growth is limited. Predictability feels like stability. This puts us in a cage that doesn’t evolve with the changing times. So, we can end up with old, stagnant thinking, habits, places, and people.
If this is the case, it’s time to update your thinking. Get out into the world. Explore new restaurants. Read books that you wouldn’t normally read. See places you have never been. Talk to people who are not who you’d normally hang around. And listen. Really listen with an open mind. Let their ideas in. This doesn’t mean you have to accept their ideas. Just entertain them.
Energy that is moving is healthy energy. By being out in the world, outside your comfort zone, you’ll grow naturally. You don’t have to force things, have an agenda, or know where you’re going. Just be and explore. The growth will take care of itself.
If you’re negative or in a bad mood, your attitude has got to change. You can do great things when you’re swimming in anxiety, depression or negativity. Those emotions just don’t inspire happy outcomes. Healthy energy creates healthy outcomes. So invest in becoming healthier.
Let People and Things Go
If you want new things to come in, you have to let some things go. What served you yesterday is probably not what you need today. That goes for people and things. Fashions change. Sizes change. Likes change. Do you really need all the clothes that you have? Personalities and interests change. Do you really need all the social connections that you have? The people in our lives are always a reflection of ourselves, so if you have needy, untrustworthy, undependable friends, ask yourself what keeps you bound to this. Or you can just let go.
Do you hang out with winners or complainers? People who wish for things or make things happen? Lovers or fighters? Consumers or creators? Who do you want to be? When you choose people who embody the characteristics you want, you’re more likely to cultivate them in yourself. Your vibe attracts your tribe. When you surround yourself with people who like what you like, you give yourself permission to indulge in things that are important to you.
Holding on to things is an investment in time, space, and money. If you free that up, you can create space and resources for other things, people, and experiences. That is how we grow.
Sometimes you just have to move on. You may have been really comfortable in a small town where you know everyone. If you want to spread your wings, you have to go somewhere that offers something different. Sometimes you outgrow relationships or jobs. If your emotions are keeping you stuck, you might need a push to get you going again. When everything is okay around you, but you have changed, maybe it’s you that needs to move.
Taking stock of where you are periodically is a good thing. We can get stuck in the every day tasks of living that we forget to live purposefully. Your vibe attracts your tribe, so checking out your tribe, or your environment, can give you a good idea of what your inner life looks like. It can reflect your energy back to you. So stop for a moment and look at your life. Do this regularly so that if corrections need to be made, you can make small, easy ones rather than big, drastic ones. This will help you to stay on track and happy.
